Eye Exams for Kids Children are a specialty of ours. All the doctors at Invision are parents, and we're extra careful to give our youngest patients a positive, non-threatening experience. We do our best to make the eye exam a fun experience for kids. We invite them to watch cartoons and play with toys before the exam.Computers Make Exams Kid-Friendly During the exam, a computerized vision chart shows children, who don’t know their alphabet yet, pictures or cartoons instead of letters. They love seeing the big picture of their own eye the digital imaging system generates.Vision Development and Care for Kids Under normal circumstances, you should schedule your child's first comprehensive vision and eye health examination by age 3. Your baby must learn to see, and most of your baby's early success with vision is in your hands. Your role begins with proper prenatal care and nutrition. Your baby will spend much of his or her first three years learning how to see. The many visual skills developed will serve your child throughout life. There are many affectionate and loving ways to aid your baby's vision development, and prepare for the seeing tasks that lie ahead. Use your creativity and imagination. |
